Extra! Extra! When your child brings home a book from our small groups, please have him/her read with you and send it back the following day. As your child begins to read at home, it should sound like he/she is talking rather than reading one word at a time. You may also model fluent reading for your child when you read.
When reading to your child at home, allow him/her to make a prediction before reading the story. After reading, have your child identify the characters of the story.

We will focus on narrative, how-to, and opinion writing throughout the year.
